Is there a way to get into this game in 2021?

I'm having a hard time getting over the learning curve, there's just too much inconsistency in the game. Not being able to even consistently have players online to play against is already tough enough, and on top of that, having to play against Europeans on their own servers, which is just even more frustrating since all input is just delayed and feels clunky and slow. Meanwhile, people who have played this game for ten years just shit on you over and over, so I'm just starting to lose hope. Should I even keep trying or just give up? Does anybody have any tips? Is there any way to fix latency problems that make the game slow and clunky?

I have been for a long time planning to create a comprehensive PvP guide with all the tips and tricks necessary to survive and manage the different situations in this game. I wanted to make it a step-by-step overview, starting from the beginner level with the most basic advice. I don't know when I'll be done with this guide. Also, I'd need some good players to help me create and edit the accompanying video material.

But to put it very very short, I can sum everything up in two sentences. In this game, movement is everything. Then comes anticipation – awareness of your foes and the environment (the map).

For game speed/smoothness, make sure you're using the nolimit mode (high FPS).
