I think the problem with telekinesis is that it’s simply not as efficient. It takes more mana and it takes more time. And more time means more shots that can potentially kill you instantly, or time for people to run away.

btw in that case, I usually keep the following combinations in my spellset:
mana drain + run
mana drain + fireball
mana drain + reflective shield
mana drain + swap location
All this allows you to recover quickly and counterattack. What do you think?
